I enjoy watching the female deer vigorously licking their fawns.  They all do it and generally do not leave an inch of the "baby" untouched.  It is probably their way of scenting the fawn or potentially just an attempt to keep them free of insects .....or maybe it is just an old fashion bath.  Whatever the reason it is always so sweet to watch.  Often the fawns have that "Aw ma, leave me alone" look on their faces.
