This photo was taken in June on day 2 after the chick hatched. I love the look of this photo, with both the adult and the chick looking at the camera. All of my loon photos are taken with a long telephoto lens, to ensure that the loons do not feel threatened or alarmed in any way. They are so beautiful to observe.
