This sweet fawn was left behind by the doe, as is their practice.  Until the fawn can keep up and outrun predators, the females often leave them hidden and return for them within hours.  Fawns this young do not have a detectaable scent and will be safe from discovery by predators if they remain perfectly still.  The doe did return several hours later to retrieve this beautiful little guy.
